A wintertime theme was my idea of the perfect wedding theme, so we got married in January. More than enough products are available to help fulfill any bride’s wish for a wedding with a winter genre. From wedding invitations to wedding favors there are all kinds and styles of accessories to choose from for almost any themed wedding you’re planning to have. We went with a cool blue and silver look to our ceremony. We also had fake snow and lovely candles at the altar, including our winter themed unity candle. It was a magical wedding.
At the reception we had white tablecloths with red table runners on each and every reception table there. In the middle of each reception table sat freshly cut white orchids inside of a glimmering silver vase, and it all went with the wintery ambiance wonderfully. I ran across some snowball ornament place card holders, and I used those for the reception. Not only are they beautiful card holders but they are awesome little ornaments as well. Everyone one received toasting flutes and champagne bottles favors from us as a token of our appreciation. As thank you, wedding toasting flutes are hard to beat. When you looked at our reception tables, all you could think of was the pristine majesty of the wintertime. Our three tiered wedding cake sat on a unique little sled designed cake stand and had a topper that was a porcelain snowflake to complete our winter wedding cake. Our cake serving set was also a winter themed accessory I found while shopping online. There was an icy blue shade to the handles which was accentuated with white snowflakes. It was an exact match for the sign-in book and pen set I had bought.
The handles on the champagne flute matched the sign in book and cake serving set we had, all with winter designs. The other things on our wedding table went perfectly with them, and they were designed with a wintery blue and white look with snowflakes mixed in. Our reception guests loved the place card holders and other gifts that they received, and the look of the tables was to die for. We got our flower girl a necklace and we we let her keep the small crown she wore in the ceremony, and she was pleased with both of them. Our ring bearer was excited because he got his own tee shirt and a yo-yo made of stainless steel. I got tank tops with crystals spelling out the word bridesmaid on them for all of my girls, plus I got my maid of honor a crystal bracelet besides. My fiance took care of shopping for the guys. For his groomsmen, he has ordered digital portable clocks and for his best man, a nice novelty pen desk set and best man mug. I could tell that all of our friends and family were having a fantastic time at the reception and they all seemed to like the little favors and gifts we bought for them.
The array of wedding materials I found on the net made our ceremony and reception a dream come true,for both of us. We also saved a little money by shopping online, with all the discounts and wholesale items they had to choose from. I not only found things for our wedding, but they also had items I could use on our honeymoon. We got a ‘Do Not Disturb’ pillow to hang on our doorknob, along with hats and shirts for newlyweds. The ‘Do Not Disturb’ pillow ended being a very practical choice.

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009I wanted to have a wedding that was not only full of great memories for me, but for our friends and family as well. The presents and favors I got everyone were things that could be treasured for a lifetime. I wanted to get them things that would help them recall how exceptional both our reception and wedding was. That’s why I started with keepsake gifts and worked my way down to a keepsake wedding gift. There were a lot of wedding items to choose from on the internet, with suggestions of very nice items for both ceremonies and receptions. All of the things that I needed for my reception were there
My reception table centerpieces had flowers and scented candles surrounded by lace in a ceramic candle holder. The place card holders, which I also discovered on the Internet, looked exquisite next to the flower arrangements.
I elected to get place card holders with nice beads on them that doubled as picture frames for everyone to take with them. As far as gifts for our guests went, I made sure I gave them all practical favors that would also make great keepsake wedding gifts. If you’re giving a present anyway, I’ve always felt that you might as well get something that they can make use of somehow. If it has no usefullness, it’s probably going to be discarded or forgotten. I wanted our friends and family to have something they will hang on to and remember sharing our special day with us every time they use it. So I chose bistro coffee mugs for each of our friends and family’s gift. They attractive and you can get good use out of them, too. I bought a bunch of pretty hang tags to put on the boxes they arrived in, but the containers were so nice-looking that I just kept them in the boxes they came in.
Reception supplies and accessories were easy to find on the world wide web. Our wedding cake topper was really something special. I opted to pick out one that would be significant to my groom and I.
Playing football in a friend’s yard is what we were doing the first time we met. I got a couple in wedding garb in the middle of a football game to remind us that his first move on me was when he was trying to tackle me. The memories of my wedding day and the day we first met are both triggered by that cake topper. Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Planning a wedding and reception can be a very hectic and exciting time, filled with so many options on what to choose for themes, decorations, etc. When my daughter was going to be a bride, the most difficult part of helping her out was getting her to decide on something. First she didn’t know if she wanted a themed wedding or if she would rather go with a traditional ceremony and reception. My poor daughter examined every option for the type of wedding she would have, and she was unable to select one that was right for her. At first she thought about a garden wedding, and then she considered a beach themed wedding and reception. Having a standard wedding ceremony and reception was what my daughter decided, at last, would be the best option for her. When she eventually made that decision, it allowed us to get the preparations underway.
We shipped out the invitations, and we signed up to reserve the church for the ceremony and a reception hall for the reception dinner. We focused on the materials we’d need for the reception dinner since her wedding gown and the outfits for the bridesmaids and groomsmen had already been selected. There were still a couple of accessories we needed to find, like her wedding guest book and wedding album. A lot of the many wedding guest books we found had nice art work on them. We had our pick of adorable wedding pens that went with the guestbooks, too. We still had a few items to find when my daughter ran across a six piece wedding set that had a solid white satin cover with satin bows and rhinestones. There was a lovely unity candle, ring pillow, flower basket and wedding garter. These satin items were together with a personalized wedding guest book. We were so surprised to find so many beautiful wedding items all in one set for one low price. We found a photo book for the wedding where you could put little mementos and crafts. Talk about a wonderful picture book to cherish your memories with.
The last things to take care of was place card holders, a wedding cake topper, and gifts for the guests. Everything else was taken care of. She chose a lovely wedding cake topper with two doves made of glazed porcelain. Those doves will make an outstanding piece for her to treasure forever. Every guest got a place card holder at the reception that was silver and in the shape of a picture frame. She thought it was neat to give the guests something they could actually use after the dinner. After looking at all of the items she selected for her ceremony and reception, I’d say she did a pretty good job of it. The extra cash she was able to hang on to by finding good deals is going to get spent when they go on the honeymoon.
The look and experience of our wedding day was a smashing success with our guests. My daughter and her new husband looked so wonderful as they danced their first dance as man and wife. I think my feet are still sore from tearing up the dance floor, but I’ll never foget what a magical night that was, and it was worth every second. My little girl was now a wife and would someday be a mother, maybe with a daughter of her own. Well, when that day comes, I know exactly where I’ll go to get the supplies and shower favors for the baby shower I’ll throw. Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Finding everything I needed for my wedding ceremony and reception was a lot of work, but went I went to pick out a gift for I bridesmaids, I realized that the other things had only been half of the battle. I just couldn’t seem to come across anything that they would really appreciate. A number of favors for reception guests and people who stand up in your wedding are out there on the web. But the hard part was picking out which was the best to buy. There were also a lot of great deals on thank you gifts that I found at a discount. I also saved a lot of money on my wedding accessories, like the 8 piece wedding set that had my guestbook and pen, flower basket, ring pillow and more. I spent a whole lot less than I expected on that. They were a lot cheaper as a set than they would have been if I would have purchased them individually.
I knew my bridesmaids would be thrilled if I got them an elegant jewelry box, and I found just that while I was perusing through the thank you gifts. Really, there were multiple wedding jewelry boxes that were very fancy. The choices for what to get my bridesmaids were so many that I finally just went back to planning the rest of the wedding because my head was spinning. I had some shopping to do yet for the reception; the ceremony was pretty well set. One thing that was on my plate, so to speak, was finding a wedding cake topper, and another was picking out wedding gifts for my friends and relatives, so I paid attention to those two next. I opted for a bride and groom salt and pepper shaker set and a bottle opener made to look like doves that had a beautiful chrome finish. Normally, I would have gotten some containers for the chrome openers, but the boxes they came in were so adorable that I just went with those. My fiance got his groomsmen a nice little stainless steel flask and a multi tool gadget that has just about everything from a pair of pliers to a bottle opener.
The topper I finally decided on was a bride and groom embracing and it was really quite lovely on top of our wedding cake. I looked at several different styles, and almost bought the monogram cake topper with silver brushed initials and crystals, but I fell for the embracing couple instead. I had put it off while I took care of buying the rest of the supplies we’d need, but it was time at last to select a gift for the women standing up in my wedding. They each got lovely jewelry gift boxes, and inside of it was some unique wedding jewelry. The piece I got each of the bridesmaids was a glittery rhinestone bangle. It wasn’t over-the-top, even though it might seem that way. There were a lot of choices of discount wedding jewelry available, which meant I could get them something really nice, and still save money. I also got a some pearl wedding jewelry for myself, and wore it in my wedding ceremony. The quality of the jewelry is top-notch, and the prices are deeply discounted. The groomsmen were pleased with what my hubby got them, and the bridesmaids were thrilled with theirs.
All my dreams came true on my wedding day; it was absolutely glorious. My groom’s brother caught the garter, and my sister, who’s also not dating anyone, managed to grab the bouquet. Might something come of it? If they did get together and someday took the plunge, he would still be my brother in law, but my sister would also be my sister in law too. Anything is possible!

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009I look back at my wedding day and see the difference in how things have changed in decorations and how great they look. It’s amazing what is out there and the variety you can choose from. There were plenty of suggestions for beach weddings that I thought were very nice with little seashells, starfish and other oceanside designs. There were also some pretty clever ideas for garden and other summer and spring weddings and receptions. You could get beautiful new wedding accessories for all 4 seasons. There are winter season decorations and all their accessories with the glitter and gold that will definitely be a beautiful addition to your themed decor. You would be surprised how many people have weddings in the winter and have it outside. That sounds beautiful, but it seems just a little too modern, and too cold for my taste. If I were planning a wedding it would have to be indoors and not outside in the cold. The best place for a winter wedding would be in a setting with a warm cozy fire and warm atmosphere.
An autumn wedding is so gorgeous and one of my favorite seasons, and has lot to offer in wedding accessories and reception supplies. An autumn wedding would be so beautiful because of the beautiful scenery with the colors changing and awesome fall scents in the air. When I got married, a long, long time ago, about the only options we had, was the traditional wedding, a justice of the peace or elopement. Now there are so many different types of weddings you can really have your ceremony exactly the way you want to. In a few months my daughter will be married and I offered to help her plan her wedding and she decided to have a country western wedding. I would of never guessed that a country western wedding would be so great until I helped my daughter plan hers. My daughter found all the western accessories to plan her wedding and make it a success. They looked stylished and fashionable. To make the atmosphere more western she put some hay bales, set up barbecue grills around and even hired a country western band. For the reception, she is going to put lights and lanterns all over. It amazed me when I found out that they were having the wedding at a ranch because I never heard of renting one for a special occasion before. It’s looks like when this is finished being planned, that it will be a big family barbecue with dear friends. Which when I think of it, sounds like a pretty good time for all. They even planned to have some country western line dancing in the barn. So, I’ve decided to get on the band wagon and go shopping for a pair of cowboy boots, hat and blue jeans and get ready to celebrate this wedding the country way. This wedding is going to be the wedding of the year and probably won’t be forgotten for a long time. With our anniversary coming up soon, I may take my daughters idea and have a country western renewal ceremony and reception.
