Planning a wedding and reception can be a very hectic and exciting time, filled with so many options on what to choose for themes, decorations, etc. When my daughter was going to be a bride, the most difficult part of helping her out was getting her to decide on something. First she didn’t know if she wanted a themed wedding or if she would rather go with a traditional ceremony and reception. My poor daughter examined every option for the type of wedding she would have, and she was unable to select one that was right for her. At first she thought about a garden wedding, and then she considered a beach themed wedding and reception. Having a standard wedding ceremony and reception was what my daughter decided, at last, would be the best option for her. When she eventually made that decision, it allowed us to get the preparations underway.
We shipped out the invitations, and we signed up to reserve the church for the ceremony and a reception hall for the reception dinner. We focused on the materials we’d need for the reception dinner since her wedding gown and the outfits for the bridesmaids and groomsmen had already been selected. There were still a couple of accessories we needed to find, like her wedding guest book and wedding album. A lot of the many wedding guest books we found had nice art work on them. We still had a few items to find when my daughter ran across a six piece wedding set that had a solid white satin cover with satin bows and rhinestones. There was a lovely unity candle, ring pillow, flower basket and wedding garter. These satin items were together with a personalized wedding guest book. We were so surprised to find so many beautiful wedding items all in one set for one low price. We found a photo book for the wedding where you could put little mementos and crafts. Talk about a wonderful picture book to cherish your memories with.
The last things to take care of was place card holders, a wedding cake topper, and gifts for the guests. Everything else was taken care of. She chose a lovely wedding cake topper with two doves made of glazed porcelain. Those doves will make an outstanding piece for her to treasure forever. Every guest got a place card holder at the reception that was silver and in the shape of a picture frame. She thought it was neat to give the guests something they could actually use after the dinner. After looking at all of the items she selected for her ceremony and reception, I’d say she did a pretty good job of it. The extra cash she was able to hang on to by finding good deals is going to get spent when they go on the honeymoon.
The look and experience of our wedding day was a smashing success with our guests. My daughter and her new husband looked so wonderful as they danced their first dance as man and wife. I think my feet are still sore from tearing up the dance floor, but I’ll never foget what a magical night that was, and it was worth every second. My little girl was now a wife and would someday be a mother, maybe with a daughter of her own.
